2013 Kansas Upland Game Seasons

Upland Hunting in Kansas Update

The 2013 upland hunting season is approaching quickly. Wingshooters should dust off that hunting vest and stock up on shotgun shells. The regular pheasant hunt season runs November 9, 2013, to January 31, 2014. The daily bag limit for pheasant hunting is four roosters. During transport, pheasant hunters must keep a foot or plumage attached to field dressed birds. This proof of sex is required if stopped by law enforcement or at a hunter checkpoint station.

The quail hunting season runs the same dates, but the daily bag limits are eight and four for the upland hunting seasons. Upland hunting season dates and ranges vary by zones, but most are in November 16, 2013, to January 31, 2014, with a two bird limit. The Southwest zone has a one bird limit.

Kansas Pheasant Hunting Lodge - Prairie chicken hunters should see the KDWPT Regulations Summary 2013 booklet for specific information. Additionally, a $2.50 permit is required for prairie chicken hunters on top of license fee.
