Kansas Dove Hunt Combo with Prairie Dog Hunting
In 2023 we are announcing that dove hunts are available combined with a prairie dog hunt. Over the last few years we have been working hard to re-invest in our hunting land and habitat in Kansas. One of many projects we created was to create a dove hunting honey hole. We have went to great lengths to create the ultimate dove hunting opportunity for our clients. The dove hunting season opens on September 1st and we run combo hunts until the first frost. Typically we have a strong local population of dove. As we journey through the month of September we start to see a migration of dove from the colder northern states.
Dove Hunting Setup
Our two honey holes have large ponds with food plots in proximity setting the hunt up to be epic. In the evenings, the doves will flock to the water sources after feeding most of the day, producing some fast paced dove hunting. The feedback from a few clients that have had the opportunity to hunt dove has been outstanding, so we now are offering it to all our clients.

A Typical Dove Hunt
A typical evening of dove hunting with 10 Gauge Outfitters begins after your day hunting prairie dogs. This is a combination hunt for our fall prairie dog hunters and they enjoy the opportunity to test their wing-shooting skills. These hunts are held in the evening as the dove or returning to water after feeding during the day. These hunts will take place on our private land specifically managed for our dove hunting.
Once arriving at the field, situate you in the flyway areas that we have designated for shooting dove. These dove can be quite the challenge as they can reach speeds of 55mph. With a limit of 15 dove per person you will get plenty of action throughout the evening. Once the group has shot their limit or the sun has set we then venture back to the lodge for our evening meal and relaxation.
Our Lodging and Accommodations
The 10 Gauge hunting lodge, located just north of Kinsley, Kansas, was originally built in an early 1900’s. Our updated lodge boasts a large 6-bedroom, 2 lofts, 6-bath lodge that can comfortably sleep up to 26 hunters and or guests. If that is not enough room for your group of pheasant hunters, we also have a 2 bed bunkhouse that allows for more guests.
Accommodations are clean, comfortable with that feeling of home. Lodging can be limited within our Kansas pheasant hunts, please book early on to guarantee yourself a memorable experience.
