At 10 Gauge Outfitters we offer a quality quail hunting experience in combination with our pheasant hunts. These fast flying game birds, lots of action and quick shooting present a challenge for even the most seasoned upland hunter. The adrenaline that a client can experience when one of our German Shorthairs lock up on a quail covey followed by the rush of the flush is remarkable!
Kansas is one of the few hidden gems that has an abundance of bobwhite quail. Our upland bird habitat management allows us to offer natural grounds with a strong quail population. 10 Gauge Outfitters has over 5,000 acres of a mixture of native Kansas pasture, watering holes and plum brush throughout. We focus on making an ideal habitat for the quail to provide the ultimate environment for fun-filled quail hunting in Kansas.
Our Quail Hunts
At 10 Gauge Outfitters we offer quail hunts only for our pheasant hunting clients. We do not offer stand alone quail hunting at this time for a variety of reasons. The most important reason is to have a control on the covey’s and keep from over running our ground with hunters. We want to ensure our guests get the maximum experience hunting quail here in Kansas.

A Typical Quail Hunt
A typical afternoon of quail hunting with 10 Gauge Outfitters begins shortly after your morning pheasant hunt. After lunch at the lodge, we will gather up everyone participating in the quail hunt to head to the fields. These hunts will take place on private land specifically managed for our quail hunting.
Once arriving at the field, we all gather in the UTV to begin our journey following the dogs. Once dogs go on point on a covey of quail, we will organize the hunters into position and release the flushing dog. The rise these quick flying quail that bust from safety will challenge even the best of shooters. With a limit of 8 birds per person you will get plenty of action throughout the afternoon. Once the group has shot their limit we then venture back to the lodge for our evening meal and relaxation.
Our Lodging and Accommodations
The 10 Gauge hunting lodge, located just north of Kinsley, Kansas, was originally built in an early 1900’s. Our updated lodge boasts a large 6-bedroom, 2 lofts, 6-bath lodge that can comfortably sleep up to 26 hunters and or guests. If that is not enough room for your group of pheasant hunters, we also have a 2 bed bunkhouse that allows for more guests.
Accommodations are clean, comfortable with that feeling of home. Lodging can be limited within our Kansas pheasant hunts, please book early on to guarantee yourself a memorable experience.
