“My group recently visited this place for three days and if you are looking for a place to go on a guided upland quail or pheasant hunt, this place is for you. From the lodge to the guides, everything was top notch. The food was outstanding thanks to their amazing cook. The best part of all was watching the dogs work their skills in the field to help us get our limit of birds on every hunt. Big thanks to Tim and the staff. Great job guys looking forward to next season.” – Josh Drake

Our updated lodge boasts a large 6-bedroom, 2 lofts, 6-bath lodge that can comfortably sleep up to 26 hunters and or guests. If that is not enough room for your group of pheasant hunters, we also have a 2 bed bunkhouse that allows for more guests.
Accommodations are clean, comfortable with that feeling of home. Lodging can be limited within our Kansas pheasant hunts, please book early on to guarantee yourself a memorable experience.

A Typical Waterfowl Hunt
We depart the lodge around 5:30 in the morning for a typical day of waterfowl hunting. Our crew of experienced guides travel to the area they choose to hunt, which can include flooded wetlands, a small pond, or an agricultural field. After arriving at our chosen location, the guides set up a spread of waterfowl decoys in the area that they feel will be best for the time of year, and will hold ducks and geese. The guides will also set up a blind, camouflaging it with natural material such as grass, leaves, and sticks to blend in with the surroundings. As the shooting light of morning begins to hit the horizon, the guides finish up the final details of setting up the spread. At this point, the hunters settle in for the morning, calling at various times to see if any waterfowl are in the surrounding area. The birds are naturally attracted to the spread of decoys and the calls of the hunters, and will fly down to check out the area. This can result in some exciting shooting, as the ducks and geese fly down from overhead to investigate the spread.
As the light reaches shooting time we can hear the calls of waterfowl coming from the distance. The guide calls as well as uses decoys in a realistic spread to draw ducks and geese in to shoot. As the first birds of the morning come into the spread what a thrill it is to shoot at them as they descend through the air in a mad flight of wings and feathers. We move from time to time to different locations on the property in search of more waterfowl. Every hunt is different depending on the migration as well as the weather from the past few days.
In the field our dogs work hard to return downed birds to your side allowing you to shoot all day and not be worried about losing a bird. The excitement of a fast moving mallard, the challenge of a wary Canada goose, or the skill required to shoot a mixed bag of migrating waterfowl, makes for an excellent hunt. Kansas is known world wide as one of the best places to hunt waterfowl in the Central Flyway.
After an early morning of waterfowl hunting we will make our way back to the lodge for lunch. After a great home cooked meal we will sit around the dinner table and review the mornings hunt. Often after lunch we can get out for a pheasant or quail hunt finishing off the day with some great Kansas waterfowl hunting.
